Security Lighting

Harrisonburg Electric Commission offers its customers the security of additional lighting installed on their property, which automatically comes on at dusk and go off at dawn. Customers are also given the choice of having wood poles or fiberglass colonial-style poles when additional lighting is installed. The wood poles are used for overhead or underground installations while the fiberglass poles are only used for underground installations. There is an additional cost for all underground installations and HEC will install and maintain the security lights. HEC requires a one year contract for the installation of lighting on existing facilities and a four year contract when HEC has to install the poles for the lighting. Listed below are the different lights we offer and the monthly cost associated with each type.
